Inov8 USB 2.0 Ultra All In One Card Reader / Writer

Today we’re going to take a look at the cheap and shiny Inov8 card reader.
You can purchase this from Play.com for £9.99 delivered (about $20 USD).
The Inov8 card reader is compatible with all the main card formats, including SmartMedia, CompactFlash, Microdrive, SecureDigital Card (SD), Memory Stick/Pro/Duo and XD (Whole list can be found on the Play.com listing).
The top of the card reader is mirror-like, and any fingers that touch it will leave a mark!
Included with the card reader is a 2 inch (ish) usb cable, and an extension usb cable (about a foot long). The small cable (that is always attatched to the card reader) can be tucked away inside when not in use to reduce required space. (sorry for bad pic!)
The card reader worked fine without any additional drivers needed in Vista. I didn’t have the chance to test it under XP or any other operating system but apparently it also works with XP. Sometimes I did have issues where I’ve plugged it all in but it won’t recognise there is a card in. However generally by taking it out and putting the card back in it seems to work. Another small issue I have (which you can’t tell from the photographs) is that the blue LED is always on and it is very bright. I’ve ended up covering it up now with some tape.
All in all? Pretty damn good for £9.99 delivered
