Edimax AR-7084GA Wireless ADSL2+ Modem/Router 802.11 Modem Router With 4-Port Switch - ADSL2+ is slowly becoming more widely available and extends the capability of basic ADSL by doubling the number of downstream bits meaning data rates can be as high as 24Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream (depending on the distance from the access point to the customer's home) Capable of doubling the frequency band of typical ADSL connections from 1.1MHz to 2.2MHz, this doubles the downstream data rates of the previous ADSL2 standard of up to 12Mbit/s, but like the previous standards will degrade from its peak bitrate after a certain distance. ADSL2+ also allows port bonding, where multiple ports are physically provisioned to the end user and the total bandwidth is equal to the sum of all provisioned ports. So if 2 lines capable of 24Mbps were bonded the end result would potentially be a connection capable of 48Mbps. (Not all ISPs have implemented this functionality) Edimax's AR-7084GA wireless 802.11g/b (ADSL2+) modem / router allows you to share your ADSL connection between up to 253 users. It also supports 8 Public IP Address mapping so you can set up multiple servers (Web server, mail server, IP camera...) inside your network for Internet users to access. Restrict users to access the services like Web, Telnet, Ping, FTP and SNMP, and you can also block some IP addresses from accessing the Internet to increase security. The AR-7084GA includes an integrated Firewell to protect you from the Internet attacks like SYN Flooding, Ping of Death, Teardrop and Land Attack.
